A faux finish wakes up this space that the client referred to as the dungeon! The title was earned because it was dark, lacked personality, and was appreciated only for its function . . . storage of fine wine. The walls in the hallway leading to the wine cellar were faux finishes with a dimensional old world cracked plaster. This sets the stage for the prize behind the door. The details on the solid black iron door have been brought to life with bronze enhancements. Inside, a piece of original art was replicated and faux finished with the same cracked plaster creating the illusion of a fresco. The result provides a sense of anticipation like a beautifully wrapped package that reveals the treasures within.
