Early planning meetings with the interior designer and builder were the key to faux finishing this mantel. With the beautiful wood cabinetry as a frame, the idea was to create interest on this large mantel by utilizing different textures and techniques in monochromatic colors. The palate for the faux finish was chosen from the existing selections of marble, limestone, wall and trim colors already in the home. Having a clear direction, the builder constructed this structure with “chunky” and clean lined elements that would be consistent with the authenticity of stone. The result is sophisticated drama that adds value to this beautiful home while remaining neutral for any potential buyer.
