Curve Appeal … Metallic Ceiling With Custom Stencil Design.

Curved lines within architectural details are both elegant and stunning. But often, when allowed to remain white, they tend to lack definition and are barely noticed as they blend into the trim. This barrel ceiling was a perfect opportunity to utilize multiple faux finish techniques to bring out the finest of details within the craftsmanship of this ceiling.

The Design Process:

Multiple tones of golden metallics were chosen to blend with the elegant fabrics in the adjacent dining room. On the opposing side is a gentleman’s study which is lined with intricate judge’s paneling. The outline of the trim was painted with a wood grain technique to continue the rich wood tones found in that room. Look closely at the graceful iron work in the doors and stairway. This was the inspiration for the stencil design which offers an additional unexpected embellishment.

This ceiling now showcases and unifies the beautiful architectural elements that adorn this space. It welcomes you with a statement of quality the moment you enter this home. The careful attention to every detail gives this foyer “curve appeal”
