Grand Entrance…Art In A Curved Foyer

A circular foyer in this grand home posed a challenge for how to incorporate artwork. The client wanted to remain true to the Old World style and utilize images rather than the obvious option of sculptures within in the wall niches.

The Design Process:

Two pieces of art were purchased and adhered to the back wall of the curved niche. Texture was added to give the impression of an aged fresco painting. Additional antiquing techniques enhanced the texture which made it appear even more grand and dimensional.

Creating this custom artwork into the curved wall of the barrel niches was an unexpected effect. It appeared so authentic that it became the most touched element in the home.
